SPD4459 長洲人的刻苦內勞 - 鹹魚和蝦乾的情懷 ∣ The hardworking personality of Cheung Chau - Drying salted fish and dried shrimp.

長洲新一代既市民大部分都出去香港各區工作了，但是也有一些較年長的居民在長洲上進行自己的工作 — 曬鹹魚和蝦乾。

The new generations of the Cheung Chau citizen usually go to mian Hong Kong cities such as Central on the work. however, there are some older citizens still working in Cheung Chau, Their main work in Cheung Chau are drying salted fish and dried shirmp.

他們每天也會很早就起身準備著新一天的操勞，天未光就要駕駛著漁船bu~bu~bu~的出海捕魚。經過長時間辛苦的工作後，他們便會把部分的魚獲用來曬做鹹魚或者蝦乾，而這個過程需要數星期才能夠製成鹹魚和蝦乾。在過程中他們需要每天把蝦和魚像圖中般曬乾，而且更需要控制他們的濕度和溫度，也要看看風向。由此可見，這項看似普通的工作實際上蘊含了長洲人百年的智慧。

The older citizens wake up very early by preparing the following whole day works. They drive the boat to the ocean and catch fish. After their fishing work, they will take a part of the harvest to be a salted fishes and dried shrimp. The process will take a long time about 2-3 weeks. They want to care about the wet, temperature and wind direction in the process. These works reflect the wisdom and hard-working of Cheung Chau people.

SPD4459 節日下的長洲 - 國慶日Cheung Chau under the festival - National Day

今年慶祝國慶的表演和煙火取消了，不過長洲的慶祝國慶活動如常舉辦。

The firework ceremony for National Day was canceled in this year but in Cheung Chau the ceremony activities for National Day will be on schedule.

城市的大型煙火 ，長洲的小型歌舞晚會。

每年的國慶煙花表演，都市人會聚集在尖沙咀或灣仔的海旁欣賞大型的煙花表演。不過長洲的居民每年自己都有一個屬於長洲居民的小型慶祝國慶歌舞晚會。雖然長洲國慶歌舞晚會沒有大型的煙花表演，只有幾名長洲的嬸嬸以歌聲來讚頌國慶日。不過每個長洲的居民都會跟著一起唱歌，舞晚會的氣氛絕不會比起大型的煙花表演遜色。以簡單平實的方式做事，這就是長洲人。

People who live in city normally gather in Tsim Sha Tsui harbor or Wan chai harbor for enjoying the large scale firework ceremony for National Day every year. However, residents in Cheung Chau have their own small scale corroboree for celebrating National Day. The corroboree for celebrating National Day in Cheung Chau doesn’t have firework performance but has few Cheung Chau middle-age female to praise National Day by singing songs. Most of the residents in Cheung Chau also singed together. The atmosphere in the corroboree is as good as the large scale firework performance. Doing thing simply and practically that is the characteristic of Cheung Chau people.

       Have you ever seen this shop? This shop is located in Cheung Chau. Do you know any special of this shop? In fact, the shop is run by a married couple who love the cat the most. because they are really extremely love cats. So, they hope to share their interest and collections through this shop. Also, they can earn the subsistence by their interest. It can reflect the traditional culture of Cheung Chau which is self-sufficiency totally.
