對你們來說渡海小輪可能是一種用來消遣輕鬆的交通工具。但對於長洲人來說它是一種每日去市區返工返學的交通工具。
The ferry may be a relaxing and entertaining transportation for people living in city. However, it is a transportation for going to Hong Kong and backing to Cheung Chau for Cheung Chau residents who working or studying in Hong Kong.  

因為長洲是一個居住小島，只有小數的大型連鎖店在碼頭外營業，食肆的數目也不算多。所以大部份長洲人都會坐渡海小輪出外工作搵錢養妻活兒。
Since Cheung Chau is an island mainly for habituation, there has few larger chain store located at the outside the ferry pier and there are few restaurants as well. Therefore, residents are likely to work in urban area.

所以他們必須坐著這種搖搖晃晃的渡海小輪，歷時35至60分鐘。在風和日麗的日子的確是一種不錯的享受。但是在橫風橫雨的日子，簡直就是一種折磨。
There must take the shaking ferry and it takes 35 - 60 mins. This is an enjoyment in sunny day but a cruel trip in stormy weather.

特別在星期六﹑日的日子，本地居民要乘坐渡海小輪必須要比平日早幾十分鐘出門口。因為星期六﹑日來住長洲的遊客特別多，有時候渡海小輪會 「爆船」。本地居民就會錯過這班船而遲到。
Especially on weekends, local residents have to reserve few more mins for the ferry. Since there are many tourism visits to Cheung Chau,the ferry have no seat for residents. if they miss the ferry, the may be late. 

對於這種的交通工具，真是既愛又恨!
local residents love and heat this kind of transportation. that is the lifestyle of Cheung Chau people.
